As our children continue to be products of the technology generation, it is very important we learn ways to keep them safe! Please consider attending the below to learn about ways to keep them safe on the internet and out of the hands of predators. Another topic discussed will also be the increased opioid use seen in Howard County and how to address this topic with your child(ren).

The Council of Elders Community Academy: What Parents and Students Need to Know, January 27, 2018

All families are invited to attend a free program on What Parents and Students Need to Know: Social Media, Human Trafficking and Opioid Use.

Do you know there has been a rapid increase in opioid abuse in Howard County? Are you aware that human traffickers are targeting adolescents and young adults? Are you aware of the impact social media has on the lives of students? Representatives from Howard County agencies will be on hand to share valuable information regarding prevention strategies to protect children from human trafficking and opioid use. Additionally, families will learn about various social media sites students are accessing and best practices to monitor them
